UPEISU President Hammad Ahmed Announces Resignation

On Sunday, January 7, 2018, Hammad Ahmed announced his resignation from the position of President and CEO of the UPEI Student Union. A scanned copy of his resignation letter is provided below.

The UPEI Student Union would like to thank Mr. Ahmed for his contribution to the organization and to the overall campus community throughout his time as President. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

In accordance with UPEISU bylaws, Vice-President Academic and External Taya Nabuurs has been appointed Acting President and shall therefore assume the duties of the President in the interim until a by-election is called. An emergency meeting of the UPEISU Council will be called in order to approve election dates for the by-election. The UPEI Student Union is committed to ensuring that the by-election and subsequent transition process runs smoothly. Dates for the upcoming by-election will be announced to the student body as soon as possible.
