Program Description

The UPEI Student Union Book Consignment Program, administered by the Vice President Academic, is designed to support affordability, sustainability, and equitable access to academic materials. By facilitating the resale and redistribution of textbooks, the program provides students with an accessible way to buy and sell course materials, while also contributing to long-term supports such as the Textbook Bursary Fund.

Through this initiative, students may submit academic books for resale, with the UPEISU overseeing the intake, sales, and distribution of funds on behalf of sellers. Books donated directly to the UPEISU are also made available for purchase, with proceeds directed toward the Textbook Bursary Fund to further reduce financial barriers.

The Book Consignment Program operates on principles of transparency and fairness, ensuring sellers set their own prices, buyers have access to a wide range of affordable options, and all participants contribute to a more sustainable and community-focused approach to academic resources.
