Health & Dental Opt Out Info for New Students

Opt outs for students who are starting full-time in January (and not registered in September, or part-time in September) are now open!

You will need to provide proof of coverage to opt out of the UPEI Benefits Plan. This includes your (or your parents if you are covered under them) health/dental card, a letter from the insurance company, or a previous claim.

Go to www.studentbenefits.ca then choose UPEI SU, and opt out. From there you will fill in the online form and upload your proof.

This process needs to be done each year, and only needs to be done once a year (if you are full-time in September, opt out needs to be completed in September. If you are becoming full-time in January, and were not registered, or part-time in September, opt out needs to be completed in January).

It will take 3-5 business days for the fees to come off your account.

Opt outs are only accepted by opting out online for Canadian students. If you are an International student there is a different process to opt out and you will need to contact Candice at admin@upeisu.ca

Deadline for January opts outs is January 27th at 4:00pm.
